Tamarindo

Even though Tamarindo is a town, there is still nature everywhere.  The howler monkeys make regular appearances all over (and often in the condo grounds!), the birding is great, a short walk along the beach in one direction brings you to the estuary mangrove hikes and in the other direction to tide pools. The estuary and Playa Grande are nature reserves and are home to all kinds of birds, crocodiles, monkeys and nesting turtles.  You don't have to go far to see nature! 

Tamarindo has many different restaurants ranging from inexpensive local hangouts to high end dining.  You are in the mood for casada (the national dish)? No problem! Same if you are in the mood for Falafel, Italian, Seafood, Pizza, Vegetarian, Sushi, Tai, Burgers and Fries or a gourmet meal.  You can find it all in Tamarindo.  And if you prefer to cook your meals, there is a gourmet grocery store nearby along with smaller grocery stores scattered conveniently around town.
